http://www.*****/html/productDetails.html?artno=JAXS44&N AN EXPECTED price-war between ATI and Nvidia, both companies are throwing punches in all directions, with only one consequence - the prices are being cut down.
Consumers can rejoice and get hardware for 50% of the price just at a beginning of this year, keeping everyone happy (ok, expect those guys who bit the bullet and bought the product at launch).
Fudo reported an excellent deal here. The product in question was an X1800XT featuring only 256MB of GDDR-3 memory, while a fully-fledged X1800XT comes with 512MB of ultra-fast memory - just what Oblivion needs for a good performance. New price of the Sapphire X1800XT 512MB ViVo Lite-Retail model is 269 euros, and is available at Captain Hook's favourite German on-line store.
A second product suffering a price-cut is the X1800GTO, also known as "the X1800XL after pipeline-cutting BIOS mod" or "castrated X1800XL which can get its balls back". Pardon my French, these two are direct quotes from several forums I visit. The new price of the product is mere 199 euros, and is targeted to go up against Nvidia's 7600GT.
We would recommend you replace the noisy cooler on the X1800XT with an after-market solution, such as Zalman's VF700-Cu or the new 900VF-Cu. µ

Everything you've seen has been running on DX9 and normal hardware you can get in the shops right now. It's all normal spec and doesn't even use a dual processor or anything like that, we don't have any special graphical hardware inside these boxes. However, with DX10 and a dual core CPU, you're going to see something very special indeed
.....that the card will cost be around €/$350.
This won't be an OEM-only card you will be able to get them in retail. Samples are expected next week and the cards should be anounced and available during the second week of May.
Well even though the card will be officially revealed on the 9th of Mai, some have already grabbed one at their local Best Buy stores. The card works at 574Mhz in 3D and 500MHz in 2D. The memory is clocked at 594Mhz. The packaging is tagged as a X1900GT, while the card itself is has a green sticker on it, which reads X1900GTO, so it seems ATI had a change of heart at the last minute and renamed the cards.
