Yeah right...
PS: Não me venham com a história do GNU...
While no definitive frame-rate gains were apparent with this release, it was critical in the fact that it finally delivered its X1000 support as well as a handful of other changes.
ATI X1900GT and GTO - more details
Well we just posted an article by the Inquirer a few hours ago, about the delay of the X1900GTO. It seems the matter is much worse than expected, as the X1900GT will be the one card based on the R580, while the X1900GTO will be based on the yet unreleased RV570. This means that there will not be any cards in May either, but some time after Computex, at the end of Summer. The X1900GT will not be available for retail, but is an OEM part, so no buying it at your local retailer. This makes the X1800GTO the fastest card at that price point at the moment, if you can find it.
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=31159WE SPOKE with one of the UK's biggest etailers, a company that can make some rules on the island and ties up a lot of exclusive deals.
We asked the guys at ***** about sales of ATI's X1900 XTX, as Nvidia and sources close to Nvidia had been implying that the X1900 XTX is in stock as it is not selling well.
The overclocker chaps confirmed that Nvidia was wrong and the company spokesman said that X1900XTX sales were superb.
Sales reports from the company are showing record sales of X1900 series throughout March and good sales level in April. The company even has some HSI ICEQ3 in stock, a card we wrote about just here.
Overclockers have ample stock of 7900 GT and GTX cards and those are selling well. The company also has stock of Asus, BFG, Gainward and OcUK branded cards.
ATI appears to have done well in high-end after all but Nvidia is starting to stack up its chips, as its yields turn out to be better. µ
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=31161ATI'S X1900GT is getting closer to release and some sources in the US confirmed that ATI customers can order this card (part # 100-435800). The same sources confirms that there will be some stores that will sell this product as a retail card.
We also learned that the Radeon X1900 GT lacks massive availability due to the fact that the R580 wasn't falling out. This is what ignited the brand change from X1900 GTO for this SKU to X1900 GT. We can confirm that X1900 GTO comes later, after Computex, and will be based on the RV570 chip.
X1900 GT should be available with a shipping date of May 1st, in ten days from now. The suggested retail price is $249 so this card is definitely takes X1800GTO place but, beware, availability will be limited so get one as soon as it is listed. We'll let you know you where as soon as they turn up. µ
