Só um pequeno offtopic...
As Catalyst 8.3 são só para desktop ou também dão para gráficas de notebook? (mais precisamente uma X1250).
ATI Catalyst 8.3
Performance Improvements:
The following performance improvements are noticed with Catalyst™ 8.3:
Call of Juarez: Up to 20% improvement is noticed on ATI CrossFireX™ configured systems containing an ATI Radeon™ HD38x0 series of product
Company of Heroes DX10: Up to 17% improvement is noticed, especially at lower resolutions, on ATI Radeon™ HD38x0 products

agora estou a testar a 9600GT e daqui a +- 2 semanas devo testar a 9800GX2
Mas ha aqui no forum mais pessoal com HD3870X2 ou HD3870 (single & CF) , ninguem testou ainda???
cumps

Some great news for any user of an ATI graphics card. Yesterday AMD released the new ATI Catalyst™ Driver 8.3 for Microsoft Windows, which should give you an up to 15% performance boost for Crysis under DirectX 10.
Supported Operating Systems
The official statement of AMD about the performance boost in Crysis with this driver includes only DirectX 10, which means you gain this boost only if you own Windows Vista. But you should also recognize a better performance with DirectX 9 and Windows XP.
Crysis DX10: Up to 15% improvement is noticed on all supported ATI Radeon™ products
- Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit versions)
- Windows XP Professional
- Windows XP Home Edition
- Windows XP Media Center Edition
- Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
Interesting new features
Feel free to discuss about the new Catalyst™ 8.3 driver in the comments and post your hopefully better benchmark results or framerate improvements.
- DirectX 10.1 Support
This release of Catalyst™ introduces WHQL certified support for the DirectX 10.1 API found in Microsoft's Windows Vista Service Pack 1 update for all ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 Series products.- Digital Panel GPU image scaling
This release of Catalyst™ introduces a new setting that allows users to enable GPU accelerated scaling for Wide aspect LCD displays. The new setting Maintain aspect ratio improves the display resolution image quality when scaling is enable by maintaining the wide panel aspect ratio (stops the image from looking distorted)- Anti-Aliasing Enhancements
This release of Catalyst™ allows users to enable narrow tent and wide tent Anti-Aliasing custom filters while running in the CrossFire™ Super Anti-Aliasing modes, (for DirectX9 applications) providing an improved image quality experience.

This is a pretty good driver as far as performance increases go for Vista users. Crysis sees a very nice bump in performance and so does UT3. CINEBENCH also sees gains but the OpenGL increase isn’t carried over to our OpenGL based game Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.
The Windows XP driver on the other hand seems to be horrendous for X2 users with some severe power drops. We tried multiple X2 cards and tried the other Catalyst drivers and the dropped score in a few key benchmarks were consistent on the 8.3s.
There is also the added bonus of Crossfire X support now which we have had a brief look at with a pair of HD 3870 X2 cards recently.
On a whole, the Vista driver is very good but the XP variant is a bit of a letdown. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Catalyst 8.4s due next month.
Until then, it might be time to fire up Crysis and bump up a setting or two.
