Apple schedules Mac event for next Tuesday

Ya, mas aquele tá um pouco forçado.

De qualquer maneira, não sei até que ponto dá para encaixar o look iPhone no iMac, sem "forçar" a coisa.

É que estou para aqui a fazer desenhos na cabeça e as barras pretas depois dão sempre o aspecto que o ecrã foi "cortado" e não fica muito bem. Eu pelo menos aínda não encontrei para aqui maneira de ficar bonito.

Por acaso os iMac G5 são brutais mesmo.

With less than 24 hours to go before Apple is scheduled to host a Mac-related media event on its campus, several small tidbits regarding new iMac pricing and the fate of the Mac mini have surfaced.

New iMacs

According to one source, Apple has issued to suppliers three new iMac price points for models that are expected to be immediately available following their introduction on Tuesday.

Apple currently offers two 17-inch iMac configurations (for $999 and $1199, respectively), a 20-inch configuration for $1499, and a high-end 24-inch configuration for $1999. However, the new pricing information suggest Apple will drop one configuration and sell just three models at $1199, $1499 and $1799.

Mac mini rumors

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed last minute reports that Apple may extend the life of the Mac mini by squeezing another slight revision from the petite desktop's existing architecture.

According to those reports, such a move would be accompanied by significant price drops that would allow the forgotten Mac to linger for several more months as an extremely low cost, low performance offering.

iLife

Finally, there are also rumblings that a new version of iLife will indeed see some attention on Tuesday (possibly encompassing a new version of iWork to form a more compelling solution).

Uma das coisas que eu tenho saudades foi como a cor revolucionou o mercado da informática quando foram introduzidos os primeiros iMacs... Aquilo sim foi revolução... e isso pôs-me a pensar...

Se os novos iMacs são em alumínio... porque não vir com cores como os iPods nanos?

O que acham? compravam cinzento? ou mudavam de ares?
 
Segundo o MacRumors.com, há fortes indícios de um update aos serviços .Mac.

Apple's .Mac site warns users that the .Mac service will be undergoing maintenance on August 7th between 10 AM an 12 PM PDT.
Due to scheduled maintenance, .Mac members might be intermittently unable to access some .Mac services from 10 AM to 12 PM PDT on 08/07/2007. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Coincidentally, this time corresponds exactly to Apple's Media Event which is scheduled to take place on August 7th at 10AM PDT.

Steve Jobs had hinted that .Mac would see a refresh in the near future during a recent interview.
Walt: .Mac... you guys didn't really develop it.
Steve: I couldn't agree more, and we'll make up for lost time in the near future

As minhas vão para:

- Novas versões do iLife e iWork
- Parceira com Google para novo .Mac
- Embora anteriormente tenha dito que não, acho que é inevitável novos iMacs...
- Qualquer coisa relacionada com a AppleTV (não pode ficar muito mais tempo no pasmo que está agora)... Talvez uma fusão da linha Mac Mini com a AppleTV.
