R600 and G80 cooling done right
The card is not even near any stores and there are plenty of companies showcasing the proper water cooler for it. Yes, I am talking about the R600 that you won't even see at the CeBIT. But the good news is if you decided to buy a G80 based card recently - there is even more cooling gear out for that one. Thanks go out to the ComputerBase which came up with the pictures.

OCZ to reach PC11200, 1400 MHz soon
Bit-tech has info about perhaps the fastest memory modules to date - OCZ's PC11200 modules, running at 1400MHz, rated at 5-6-6 timings with an operating voltage of 2.35V. Even though the timings are loose, the high frequency should make up for the loss in performance.
Bit-tech also spotted new Reaper HPC modules, which are now up to PC9600 or 1200MHz speeds.

CeBIT : Tyan Demo Opteron Personal Supercomputer
Tyan recently announced a new addition to their TyanPSC using AMD Opteron processors on top of the current Xeon powered TyanPSC. They have two live running demo on gridMathmatica 2.1 for both Intel and AMD platforms. T-540 DX is powered by 10 Opteron 2218HE processors and has a total of 20GB DDR2 memories. There is a Quadro FX1500 graphics card at the head node. T-650 QX, on the other hand is powered by 10 Xeon "Woodcrest" 5150 processors and has a total of 6GB DDR2 memories.
The world's first carbon-based CPU cooler
OCZ has decided to experiment a bit and has shown a carbon-based CPU cooler at CeBIT. The cooler you see below is a handmade sample that was assembled in three days and hand-carried to the CeBIT show. The unit combines air and water cooling to achieve maximum performance.

CeBIT : ASUS Makes Radios, No Kidding
ASUS is getting pretty aggressive these days and is releasing any products that can possibly brand themselves and distinguish from the rest. It is probably due their future company direction to split into ASUS up into OEM and Brand business so they got to really build up their brand in order to excel in the Brand business. This time round, ASUS has some internet radios called u-Nedio that don't require a PC to access the internet radio stations. The wooden one sure looks vintage to me.

Corsair redefines power supply efficiency at CeBIT
Corsair, known for making quite good RAM among other things, is apparently really getting serious about the power supply business. Most power supplies on the market today are anywhere between 50 and 85% efficient, with the vast majority of power supplies being between 75 and 85% efficient under load. Corsair had a brilliant power supply at their CeBIT booth, which had an impressive 90% load efficiency. This allowed it to power an AMD QuadFX system with G80 SLI, 4GB of PC2-8000 DDR2 RAM, and a 150GB hard drive with a 620W power supply (most people at the show expected an 850W-1kW PSU to be required). To be honest, Corsair has actually had this power supply on the market for a while, and probably couldn't wait for CeBIT to make it available. You can get this extremely efficient power supply
here (oh look it's on sale).

CeBIT : Silentflux closed loop liquid bubble pump cooler
Silentflux has a pretty innovative liquid bubble pump cooler on display at their booth in CeBIT. the Silentflux coolers makes use of convection and a special liquid with a low boiling point to circulate liquid within the cooler. They have some low profile solutions for HTPC users as well as a standard version for tower cases. More pictures here for your enjoyment.

CeBIT : AMD 690G DTX Board Pictured
We saw a very interesting board today, an AMD 690G board codenamed Diamond Mech Board 2 based on the new DTX form factor. AMD has announced the new DTX form factor for Small Form Factors back in January. DTX motherboards are made backward compatible with ATX chassis but case makers are expected to make smaller DTX chassis specially for DTX boards. Even mini-ITX boards can be used in DTX cases. There are two board sizes for DTX; Full DTX and mini-DTX both at 20 cm length but mini-DTX is shorter in width at 17cm compared to 24.4cm. The board shown above is a Full DTX board.
