Good, a ATI conseguiu incluir um clone da tecnologia Purevideo e Dual dual-link DVI's na R5xx, só chegou ano e meio atrasada... :rolleyes:

Nao é bem um colone :rolleyes:

ATI'S MULTIMEDIA team did great homework with its Rc5xx series. We were expecting something interesting from ATI in terms of multimedia, but we didn’t expect that ATI will have dual link transmitters on the whole product range. Just a few months back, you were supposed to pay some serious money to run your Apple or Dell display at 2560x1600 resolution. ATI now calls its video capability aVivo.
Our sources close to ATI implied that display capabilities of $99 card will beat flagship $499+ Geforce 7800GTX when it comes to resolution support. Ouch, Nvidia really.

A tecnologia aVIVO vai tar disponivel em toda a gama X1xxx

ATI Improves Image and Video Quality with Avivo Technology.
ATI Unveils Avivo Technology

ATI Technologies has introduced its new technology designed to improve image and video quality on personal computers. The Avivo includes both hardware and software capabilities and will be available on some of ATI’s multimedia products as well as on all next-generation RADEON products, which are to be available in weeks.

“As the world’s leading supplier of reception and display solutions for high end digital televisions, ATI is delivering the world's leading video and display technologies to the PC. ATI's Avivo benefits anyone who edits digital photos, enjoys a home theater PC, or plays PC games,” said Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President, PC Business Unit, ATI Technologies.

The Avivo hardware includes hardware video encoding, decoding, capturing (a special video capturing chip may be needed) as well as output capabilities. While those features have been available on the personal computer (PC) for more than a decade already, Avivo seriously revamps the whole pipeline in a bid to provide high-end consumer electronics quality on the PC.

All digital photo and video files are processed through a series of steps before being displayed on PC monitors. A flaw in any one of these steps will produce a less accurate video or image. ATI’s Avivo refines all of the steps to ensure the best photo and video experience, the company said. Among the main advantages of Avivo ATI noted the following:

- Using today’s current computer architecture, Avivo delivers video playback by supporting hardware MPEG-2 compression, hardware assisted decode of MPEG-2, H.264 and VC-1 video codecs, and advanced display upscaling;
- 64 times the number of colors currently available in current PCs for vibrant images that are more accurate with higher color fidelity with unprecedented 10-bit processing throughout Avivo’s display engine;
- Extreme resolutions, such as 2560x1600 or higher, on the latest digital displays using dual-link DVI, as well as high color depth support over DVI;
- Industry-first advanced up or down resolution scaling for high quality viewing on any flat panel display using ATI’s unique solutions never before implemented on the PC;
- Accurate video capture with features like 3D comb filtering (a feature previously limited to high-end televisions), front-end video scaling, and hardware MPEG video compression;
- True-to-life image reproduction for TV programs with hardware noise reduction and 12-bit analog-to-digital conversion for high-quality video capture;
- Universal connectivity to support standard TV, HDTV, video input and all PC displays via digital (DVI, HDMI) and analog (VGA, Component, S-Video, composite) ports.
- Avivo will be an integral component in all of ATI’s upcoming desktop, mobile, chipset, workstation, and software products, according to the company.

É desta k a ATI vai á falencia :002:

LOL

Epá ... "a VIA vai ganhar o mercado todo" ... "é desta que a NVidia vai á falencia" .... "ainda não lançaram a 7600" ... "devem tar com problemas" ... LOL

Radeon X1800XT works at 625MHz /1500 MHz
Still some headroom

BACK IN August, ATI told its partners that 600/1400 are the clock speeds that it was aiming for, but it didn't tell them that those clocks would be the final clocks.

Around the same time, we received news that R520 - now officially known as the Radeon X1800XT - is going to be overclockable to skyhigh limits. We still stick with our story that the cards are going to work at 700MHz+ but this of course won't be the shipping speed. Yields would probably be very low at those speeds.

But if you look at the memory ATI is using for chips that you can clock to 1600 MHz, there's still a lot of headroom there. We suggested that memory will be very overclockable and we haven’t been wrong on this one either.

It turns out that the new speeds ATI is touting secretly to its partners for the R520XT are 625MHz for core and 1500MHz for the memory. I believe that this is going to be just enough to beat Nvidia, which has a secret weapon called Detonator 81. I think that ATI's lab boys are testing a new driver as we speak, and at this time there is absolutely no way to say that even 625MHz/1500MHz will be the final shipping speeds. It's all on ice, and ATI also wants to throw sand in its competitor's face, no doubt.

One more thing. Whichever wins, the Geforce 7800GTX or Radeon X1800XT, it's going to be by a very small margin so if you own Geforce 7800GTX you should be fine. µ

A X1800 vai ser apresentada em 5 de outubro. Afinal não é em setembro

ATI Technologies is set to introduce its much-anticipated next-generation product lineup in twelve days, according to the counter at its web-site, which presumably counts time to go till the formal introduction of the products. ATI has promised that the first graphics cards based on the new chips would come to store shelves in late September.

The countdown on the web-site of ATI Technologies points to the 5th of October, 2005. At press time it was about 12 days to go till the introduction. Officially, the countdown does not explain its predestination.

ATI’s highly-anticipated VPUs code-named R520, RV530 and RV515 will officially be called RADEON X1800, RADEON X1600 and RADEON X1300, respectively.

While the company has not released any peculiarities of the forthcoming visual processing units, from the previous comments made by the firm’s executives and sources close to the company it is known that the new VPUs will have entirely new architecture that supports Shader Model 3.0, next-generation high definition H.264 video decoding, new memory controller and other improvements. A corner stone of the new graphics family by ATI is TSMC’s 90nm manufacturing process that allowed to clock the chips “around 50% higher than products manufactured on older processes” while increasing functionality and complexity of the processors.

The new product family based on the latest graphics processors is likely to boost ATI’s revenues and profits in the ongoing quarter after several times the Markham, Ontario-based graphics chip designer missed its original revenue estimates. Still, it is likely to take some time for ATI’s new products to become popular among consumers.

ATi Launch Spots For R520

News : GPUs & Graphic Cards : ATi Launch Spots For R520
ATI is throwing a big party at Europe's most infamous party spot, at Ibiza, Spain and plans to do the briefings and the launch of R520 and the other generation of the cards. ATI invited about 100 press beggars and it plans to book PR spinners and its staff in a four star beach hotel. Some of key ATI people known for both architecture knowledge and partying skills will be there. ATI will have its VP of desktops, a chap named Richard Heye and some other names as Raja Koduri, Terry Makedon, Richard Huddy. Some university professors from the US will be at the launch and apart from the marchitecture, previews, overclocking and seeing the R520 in action ATI plans to hold some wild parties. ATI Canada is also throwing a party in Oakland, California. So, Oakland or Ibiza?

Ed's note : We also came to know that there is launch in Taiwan too where most of the ATi's AIB partners are located at. Expect a massive worldwide launch on Oct 4th.
