Looks like a redesigned HSF is coming too. I wonder what ATI will come up with, as since the X850, all its high end cards have a similar heatsink.

ATI is getting ready for another release, to hit back at NVIDIAs 7600GT. The RV560 will have eight ROP units and is capable of pushing out eight pixels per clock. That is twice the number of the X1600. It will also have 24 Pixel Shader ALUs (arithmetical logical units) and four Vertex Shader units, while the number of Texture Memory Units (TMU's) will be doubled to eight.
Then there will be the RV570 which should give NVIDIA a run for its money. It will have 12 ROP and 12 units (12 pixel/textures per clock) with 36 Pixel Shader ALU's and six Vertex Shaders. Expect clock speeds of 650 - 700Mhz.
Both parts will be 80 nanometer, and will be called X1700Pro (RV560) and X1700XL and X1700XT (both based on the RV570).
