Nvidia to launch 512MB GTX
When will it ship it?

NVIDIA IS still very quiet after ATI launched its long delayed R520 chip. It released a new beta driver that didn't change much but it still has to answer with a new Geforce 7800 GTX card powered with 512MB of memory.
We confirmed that Nvidia is working on such a card and we also learned that Nvidia might ship its 512MB cards before ATI brings X1800XT cards to the shops. ATI already announced that you can expect to see some Radeon X1800XT starting from the 5th of November.
Nvidia is getting very aggressive and it wants to discredit ATI in all fronts as it wants to earn even more money. Geforce 7800 GTX with 256MB memory brought some extra money to Nvidia and you have to thank ATI for finally raising the bar from 256 to 512MB memory on the cards. It's about the time to start using more complex textures. Remember Jon Carmack asked about 512MB cards more than a year ago?
Nvidia is working on a new chip based on 90 nanometre process tech, but it won't see the light of the day in 2005, we think. It's a next year product. µ
