Porreiro...ainda não puseram as X-Fi a funcionar decentemente em Vista e já estão a preparar outras.

Não sei porquê tenho a impressão que a minha X-Fi se vai avariar antes da garantia acabar, como a Creative não consegue fazer um RMA em 30 dias parece-me que ainda vão ter que me devolver os 250€ que paguei pela minha. Uma Xonar custa 140€ +/-...

A minha placa de som Asus, na Board chega e sobra....

"We have read the strong feedback about Creative's forum post regarding driver development by Daniel_k and other outside parties. Creative's message posted on our behalf by our Company spokesperson tried to address our concern about the improper distribution of certain software which is the property of other companies. However, we did not make it as clear as we would have liked that we do support driver development by independent third parties. The huge task of developing driver updates to accommodate the many changes in the Vista operating system and the extensive testing required, including the lengthy Vista certification requirements for audio, makes it very difficult for Creative to develop updates for all past products. Outside developers have been very helpful to Creative and our customers by developing updates for many of our Sound Blaster products, and we do support and appreciate these efforts. This however does not extend to the unauthorized distribution of other companies' property. We hope to work out a mutually agreeable method for working with Daniel_k in supporting his efforts in driver development. Going forward, we are committed to doing a better job of working more closely with third parties to support their development for our products and our customers"

Sinceramente a Creative já está a meter nojo. Têm bons produtos (pessoalmente tenho/tive vários já) mas a questão dos drivers vai fazê-los perder clientes mais cedo ou mais tarde. É inadmissível como alguém que está a tentar ajudar uma comunidade, fazendo o trabalho que competia à Creative, se arrisca a ser prejudicado por isso. É mesmo de mandá-los às urtigas.

apesar de não ser um entendido na matéria estou completamente de acordo ktgu...nem xabia o que se andava a passar..realmente a CREATIVE é uma marca de topo, pela qualidade dos produtos, mas acho essa política uma big SH*t..também tenho material da creative...[quem é que não tem afinal?], é realmente muito bom...mas e´pah nao dá..
continuem a esclarecer leigos como eu,,,
 
Creative promises to fix X-Fi Drivers for Vista.



Hello everyone, I have another update for you guys today:
It has come to our attention that, in the process of upgrading from Windows XP to Vista and installing driver updates for certain Creative sound cards, Dolby Digital decoding, DTS decoding, and DVD Audio functionality may have been impacted for some customers. Creative has now created separate drivers that are specifically designed to re-establish these functionalities. There are two revised versions of the drivers, one for Audigy and one for X-Fi products. Please note that DVD Audio functionality will only be available for Vista 32-bit systems.

The new drivers also addresses compatibility issues for 64-bit systems that have 4GB or greater amounts of memory as well as a number of other issues. Full details will be provided with the beta releases.

Both new drivers require Windows Vista SP1. Public Beta versions of these drivers are currently on schedule to release in early June and will be announced here in the forum once they are available for download. The final release version of these drivers will be made available in late July or early August.

X-fi.... e as minha Audigy? Até nem me importava de dar uns trocos e ter drivers para Vista.... mas agora não ter suporte para a Audigy é no mínimo decadente.

Ora lê outra vez a notícia com mais atenção (penúltima frase do primeiro parágrafo)...

parece que a rebocada que levaram de milhares de utilizadores fez a creative pensar de novo. Mas ainda assim vão perder muitos clientes/possiveis clientes

pois é parece que o Daniel_k desistiu depois de uma segunda carta da Creative relativamente aos drivers e expõe alguma verdade.............

I'm done with Creative, enough is enough.

Don't even bother asking me for the files.

Unfortunately, the situation did not change for us.

They did say an updated Audigy driver would eventually be released, but don't be optimistic about it (their priority is the launch of X-Fi 2).

What I can say for sure is the features I've enabled will not be made available in an official driver update.

Although I still have my doubts, they've said I would not be threatened if I provided patches instead of the actual binaries, because of licensed technologies built into them (Dolby/DTS).

While this could even be true, most of the disabled features are Creative's own technologies, which means they've disabled them on their own choice.

That's funny when people think you are an idiot.

They were after me and, on a chat session, they asked me what I'd like from them, as if I were expecting something.

They've promised me a free X-Fi 2, but I told them it was not necessary, because I was getting a couple of cards from other companies that contacted me.

Well, at least they are getting flammed all over the web and they are certainly mad about it and I could feel it while chatting with them. That is an enough reward for my hard work.

I'm not releasing a patch to enable DDL on any X-Fi neither Crystalizer for Audigy because, as they've pointed out to me, providing an alternative for their customers is good for them and increase their sales, specially when someone is doing it for free. Given the current situation, I cannot let this happen, as people get used to this and still buy Creative products.

Remember, while they say that 3rd parties are ok to provide workarounds, it is Creative's job to provide official driver/software updates.

I just hope their competitor companies do something about it.

And I really hope people don't forget this.

Parece q ou outros fabricantes têm muito terreno para explorar..... pois eu não compro mais nada da Creative!!!! má suporte técnico....... e não se esqueçam q vem ai o windows 7 e anunciaram a x-fi2..... podem mandar dinheiro para o lixo se a comprarem, pois os drivers para o windows 7.......
 
Este tipo de situação é inadmissível, a solução é não se comprar hardware dessas empresas.

A Microsoft fez-me uma parecida com um Joystick que na altura me custou mais de 30 contos (150 euros) e que funcionava bem no Windows 2000 e no XP já não funcionava (e a maioria dos drivers do 2000 até funcionava no XP). No site de suporte como solução mandavam comprar a nova versão do joystick.

Nunca mais comprei hardware da MS por causa disso.
 
Enfim, a creative enterrou-se e bem.

Por alguma razão quando procurei colunas novas, risquei logo as creative. Z-2300 in the house.

o windows vienna ainda tá longe...

Está visto que na Creative não aprenderam nada... pode ser que comecem a usar mais a cabeça quando virem as as vendas cair. Já o tinha escrito, mas volto a frisá-lo: Creative nunca mais, seja em placas de som, seja em colunas, seja em leitores de MP3 (o meu irmão tem um e não tem razão de queixa, mas eu não vou arriscar na marca quando comprar um para mim).

Boas

Leitor MP3 tenho o Zen Stone Plus, e de facto tem uma qualidade excelente. Se funca bem no Vista ou não, não faço a mínima, mas tb só o uso para meter músicas lá dentro e às vezes usá-lo como pen, nada de muito complicado. Até me dar problemas vou continuar a usá-lo, não passa de uma pen, nada de complicado aí, não é?

Agora placa de som, se alguma vez me der para comprar uma vou com Asus ou Auzen. Já está mais que visto.
