The forthcoming Ninja Gaiden 3 is a highlight of Tecmo Koei Games’ Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) showcase this year, but there are a couple of newly revealed titles accompanying it at the show. An all new version of the beloved Dynasty Warriors series was revealed for PlayStation Vita earlier this week, and yesterday it was confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 3 would be making its way to Nintendo’s newly revealed console, Wii U, under the guise of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.
Very few details on Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge are currently known. From the trailer presented at Nintendo’s pre-E3 media briefing it would appear as though the game will be very similar to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, though nothing has been confirmed at present. And Tecmo Koei Games’ press release doesn’t exactly help with the confusion.
“TECMO KOEI GAMES CO., LTD has today officially announced at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) that it will develop game software for the Wii U™, a next-generation console entertainment system from Nintendo. [sic]” Reads the statement, followed by two key points: firstly, that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is the working title for the game, and that the release date and price is yet to be determined.
With Ninja Gaiden 3 set for an early 2012 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, you could certainly have the expectation that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will be ready alongside Wii U’s launch later in the year. Until Tecmo Koei Europe confirm the release however, this is merely conjecture. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Ninja Gaiden 3, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge and other forthcoming release from Tecmo Koei Europe.
