Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 with improved S Pen and UD fingerprint reader announced
Samsung announced its flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6 and it comes with a handful of improvements over its predecessor, which are not necessarily hardware-related.
The device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with either 6GB/128GB or 8GB/256GB of memory. MicroSD card support is present as well if that's not enough. The tablet is built around a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED panel with 2560 x 1600px resolution - a productivity-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio. Multimedia isn't neglected too as quad speakers tuned by AKG and Dolby Atmos make the whole movie-watching experience complete.
To our surprise, the tablet also carries not one but two cameras on its back. The main one is 13MP while the secondary unit has ultra-wide 123-degree field of view. The front holds an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. Fun fact: this is the first tablet with an ultra wide-angle camera, at least according to Samsung.
A 7,040 mAh battery powers it all while the S Pen holds a small 0.35 mAh charge, which is still enough for about 10 hours of operation. The best thing is that the stylus can charge in just ten minutes spent in its own dock.
Speaking of the S Pen, it can now work as a remote control for your multimedia player or when taking photos. Basically, it adopts the same functions as the S Pen on the Galaxy Note9.
Additionally, the Galaxy Tab S6 supports Samsung's DeX which combined with the Book Cover Keyboard can turn into a PC for better productivity and multi-tasking.
For security, Samsung has added an optical fingerprint reader under the screen making the tablet one of the first, if not the first, in its category to adopt the tech.

The Galaxy Tab S6 in Cloud Blue, Rose Blush and Mountain Gray
The device is available in Mountain Gray, Cloud Blue and Rose Blush colors starting at $649 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version while the 8/256GB variant will go for $729.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite unveiled: 10.4" display, S-Pen support, and 7,040 mAh battery
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S6 last July and today the Korean tech giant followed it up with a toned down version, dubbed Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite flaunts a uni-body metal design and packs a 10.4" 2000x1200-pixel LCD, which is 0.1" smaller than the regular Tab S6's Super AMOLED panel of 2560x1600 pixel resolution.
The Lite version also skips the in-display fingerprint scanner present on the vanilla Tab S6.
On the inside, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has an octa-core processor with a maximum clock frequency of 2.3GHz. Samsung doesn't mention the chipset, but it's likely the Exynos 9611 SoC.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has 4GB RAM onboard and comes in two storage options - 64GB and 128GB. The regular Tab S6, on the other hand, came with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage on the base variant, with the top-end model having 8GB RAM and 256GB storage onboard. On the upside, the Tab S6 Lite has a microSD card slot, allowing storage expansion by up to 1TB.
On the software side of things, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite runs Android 10 with One UI 2.0 out of the box and has Dark Mode and Samsung Knox in tow. It also lets you answer calls and reply to text messages, provided you are connected to a Samsung smartphone running Android Pie or higher, with at least 3GB RAM.
The Samsung Tab S6 Lite sports an 8MP primary camera at the back and a 5MP selfie shooter on the front.
More excitingly, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with an S-Pen stylus and Samsung will also sell a Book Cover separately which clings magnetically to the slate and has a slot for the S-Pen, making it easier for you to carry it around.
The Tab S6 Lite has Bluetooth 5.0 and supports Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity. It also has the 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with AKG-tuned speakers and Dolby Atmos for a better sound experience.
Fueling the entire package is a 7,040 mAh battery which draws power through a USB-C port.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has three color options - Oxford Gray, Chiffon Pink, and Angora Blue. It is currently listed on Samsung Indonesia's official site, but there are no details about its pricing and availability. However, the Indonesian branch reveals that Tab S6 Lite will come with a 4-month YouTube Premium subscription.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5 to launch in August with stylus, Snapdragon 855
Samsung announced a new more affordable member of the flagship Galaxy Tab S-series two months ago while the full-fledged flagship model, the Galaxy Tab S5, is yet to arrive. And while doubts arose if it will keep the signature S Pen, which the e-model dropped a new report comes to put us at ease.
A reliable source has confirmed that the flagship model will be coming with an S Pen. It also gave a launch time frame to look forward to - the Galaxy Tab S5 is coming at roughly the same time as the Galaxy Note10.
For the last five years the flagship phablet has always launched in August, so chances are Samsung will maintain the tradition. Just two months to go now.
Finally, the report also mentions some of the Galaxy Tab S5 specs. The tablet will boast a Snapdragon 855 chipset, 6GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage while skipping the 64GB base variant. The last two Galaxy Tab S generations launched with previous-gen chipsets, so it's nice Samsung is finally bringing its tablets up to speed.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 leaks in live images, shows off its dual rear cameras
Samsung is working on a new flagship tablet, and up until very recently we thought this would be called Galaxy Tab S5, since its predecessor is the Tab S4. But for some reason Samsung is choosing to skip the number 5 and go straight to 6. And thus we have the upcoming Galaxy Tab S6, which has just been leaked in some live images. Here it is in all its blurry prototype glory:
The name is confirmed by the boot logo so at this point there should be little doubt in your mind that the lower-end Galaxy Tab S5e will not get a higher-end non-e S5 companion. The Tab S6 will unsurprisingly run Android 9 Pie from day one, even though it's probably going to be unveiled within days or at most weeks of Google pushing out Android 10 Q to its devices. But by now you should know how it goes with Samsung flagship device launches occurring in the second half of any given year - they all run the Android iteration that was released the year before.
The Galaxy Tab S6 is expected to be truly the highest-end Android tablet ever made, as it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Last year's Tab S4 went with the Snapdragon 835 from 2017 even though the 845 was available. The Tab S6's display is a 10.5" panel, and RAM will be at least 6GB. The base model will have 128GB of storage, with 256GB an option.
Like its predecessor, the Tab S6 will come with a stylus, and that groove at the back is where you magnetically attach it to the tablet. It's neat in that it will also charge while it's there. And yes, you guessed it, that means this S Pen will have Bluetooth support.
Dual cameras on tablets haven't really become a thing yet, but maybe Samsung will make that trend happen starting with the Tab S6. No details about the actual camera hardware have been outed yet. The device will be available in two versions, Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi+LTE, in grey, blue, and brown, and Samsung will sell a keyboard cover accessory.
Judging by the timing of the recent leaks talking about it, the Galaxy Tab S6 may be announced alongside the Note10 family on August 7, or perhaps at IFA in late August.
