"Kyro SE benchmarks
A lot of people keep asking me for benchmarks. I only have a few and if I post them here my Kyro SE page in my ImgTech report will look a bit empty. But since the report is not due until the end of this month here is a very small sneak preview of the T&L scores. The benchmarks were done on a P4, 2 GHz CPU and the Kyro II was using driver version V1.04.14.28 while the Kyro II SE was using beta drivers which did not contain any optimizations for speed like we find in shipping drivers and the Kyro II drivers. So expect these scores to increase by the time the Kyro II SE hits the shops. These scores are from 3Dmark 2001 SE
Kyro II
High Polygon Count (1 Lights) 2.4 MTriangles/s
High Polygon Count (8 Lights) 1.7 MTriangles/s
Kyro II SE
High Polygon Count (1 Lights) 4.9 MTriangles/s
High Polygon Count (8 Lights) 2.7 MTriangles/s
As you can see even though the Kyro II SE is only 25Mhz faster then the Kyro II its over double the speed in the High Polygon Count 1 Light test. As for how much faster the Kyro II SE is at T&L, I can’t say as it depends massively on the game you are playing.
The fillrate test was 398.9 MTexels/s. So the Kyro II SE hits its theoretical fillrate just like the Kyro II. Its always good to hear a 3Dcard hits its max fillrate."
