New old chip gets name

ATI DECIDED what to call its upcoming R580+ chip. The company has dubbed it the Radeon X1950 XTX, or XT, depending on the variation.

ATI didn't have many more numbers left and it wanted to keep the XTX and XT sub-brands alive. And it figured that X1990 would be too complicated.

This is rather evolution than a revolution, just slightly faster and that's it. The faster one, Radeon X1950XTX is set to replace the current-fastest ATI Radeon X1900 XTX while the new Radeon X1950XT aims to replace X1900XT cards.

We still don’t know about the clock speeds but we know that the new cards comes with GDDR 4 memory. They are set to be released at some point in September/October timeframe. µ

Abril - Maio - Junho - Julho - Agosto - Setembro

6 meses certos...

ATi will be introducing new high end products in coming August

ATi will be introducing the R580+ models namely Radeon X1950XTX and Radeon X1950 CrossFire edition and a 256M Radeon 1900XT in August 2006.

The Radeon X1950XTX is based on R580+ core and has 512MB GDDR4. The Radeon X1950 CrossFire Edition will also be announced right after the X1950XTX.

In a few more days, ATi will also release a 256M version of the Radeon X1900XT.
http://www.techzonept.com/showthread.php?t=97115&highlight=x1950xt

The Inq diz:

ATI's X1950 XTX set to pump up the pixels

Seven percent faster than an X1900XTX for around €399

ATI'S UPCOMING R580+ based card will sit at around the €399 price mark when it arrives next month. We expect it to start off at €419 but will soon drop to €399. ATI wants to push this card hard and is dropping the price to fight Nvidia's 7950 GX2 card.

It will still be slower than the doubled-up GX2 but we are sure that two X1950 XTXes will beat the single 7950 GX2. It may even give quad SLI to run for its money.

The cards will surface in late August and should be available from launch. We know that they will use GDDR 4 and that will end up seven percent faster from the current X1900 XTX cards.

It will still need a Crossfire board but might have some other nice and cool features. We hear it will have a new cooler, to make it nice and quiet, for instance. µ

Só 7%?!??!... WTF?!... :rolleyes::mad:

Radeon X1650XT and X1950XT

ImageThe commercial name of graphics boards ATI embarking processor RV560 will be finally Radeon X1650. This processor will be engraved in 80 Nm by UMC, it will have of 12 pipelines and an interface memory 256 bits. This version should be baptized X1650 Pro and will replace X1600 Pro whereas the RV570 should take seat in the model X1650 XT.

Top-of-the-range side, the Canadian manufacturer should name his graphics boards equipped with R580+ supporting the DDR4, Radeon X1950XT and X1950XTX. In short, nothing new good with share a X1x50 suffix which announces the processors engraved in 80 Nm. The true innovations in the graphic field will arrive with G80 and R600 planned respectively for the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007.

A price for Radeon X1950XTX

The future top-of-the-range graphics board of the Canadian manufacturer embarking the processor R580+, Radeon X1950XTX, should be sold with the neighbourhoods of the 400 euros. This graphics board should make it possible ATI to hold the high dragee in NVIDIA and its GeForce 7950GX2 by using two X1950XTX in CrossFire…

First Radeon X1950XTX should be available to the re-entry. They will use memory GDDR4 and will be more powerful than the current X1900XTX from approximately 7%. Lastly, the system of cooling would be less noisy.

Se for lançado em Setembro.

X1950 XTX and X1950 CF will have same clocks

650MHz core and 2.0GHz DDR4 512MB memory

FOR the first time, ATI plans to make Crossfire and the XTX cards clock at the same speed. Both the upcoming Radeon X1950 XTX and Radeon X1950 Crossfire Edition will end up clocked at 650MHz core and 2.0GHz DDR4 512MB memory.

If everything goes well for ATI, this will be the last high end Crossfire edition card as the R600 has everything it needs to pair two cards without any necessity for a Crossfire card.

The card will retail for $449 in the US and will be sold for some €409 in European retail, but will display a tendency to fall below €400.

We can now confirm that the cards will be ready for the 23rd of August but as the clock speed stays the same, don’t expect any miraculous performance increase. We've already written about it here.
