The 3rd Birthday is an upcoming video game from Square Enix. The game is being developed for the cell phone platform and the Playstation Portable and will mark the third entry in the Parasite Eve Series after Parasite Eve II, which was released in 2000. Very little information about the plot has been released. The 3rd Birthday is a spin off of Parasite Eve, which is why "Parasite Eve" has been excluded from its title. The title references the third appearance of Aya Brea and the significant changes for the design of the game compared to its predecessors. However, as it is the third game in the "Parasite Eve" series, fans have been erroneously referring to the game as "Parasite Eve 3".

Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday Screens

Would you like to know what the newly announced Parasite Eve project is going to look like on the PSP? Of course you would. Square Enix released a handful of new screenshots and a little bit more information about their new game today. Fans have been especially curious to find out which of the first two Parasite Eve games would provide inspiration for this sequel. The first title was a more traditional JRPG, while the second game took the series in a new direction to focus on the survival / horror theme. Interestingly, it sounds like the designers have taken the middle road and decided to combine both the horror and RPG aspects of the first two games in this PSP spin-off. It will be interesting to see how this title comes together, and we will have more news on 3rd Birthday as it develops.
These images, taken from the game's first trailer, show scenes from the explosive intro. We suspect that it will be a while before we get a look at actual gameplay.

Hajime Tabata reveals some details for The 3rd Birthday

http://pspupdates.qj.net/Hajime-Tabata-reveals-some-details-for-The-3rd-Birthday/pg/49/aid/123289
Hajime Tabata recently went on record to explain some of the goings on in the latest Parasite Eve title, The 3rd Birthday, noting that Aya Brea's new mission is going to involve a new brand of enemy and a lot of gunplay.

Perhaps of import for those folks who loved the Parasite Eve games is that this game is set firmly after the resolution of the previous games, seeing as Aya Brea is now 35, numerically speaking. Her powers, as great as they are, will probably be tested against a new enemy, which Tabata called The Twisted. Luckily, Brea has a new power called overdrive, which will allow her to both fight and understand the nature of The Twisted.

Tabata also said that the sequel would be a "true third person shooter" that would be different from Dirge of Cerberus. He also mentioned that Square Enix was working with another development team to make the game, but didn't mention the people the company was working with.

As for the game itself, Tabata mentioned that the game would may have wireless play, though it wasn't sure yet if it would be net based or ad-hoc. Lastly, it was also revealed that the game's scenario and design were nearing completion.

Keep checking QJ for more updates to The 3rd Birthday. In the meantime, feel free to speculate as to how the Overdrive power connects with Aya Brea's mitochondria-based abilities.

A equipa do Xenogears has left the building e hoje chamam-se Monolith.

he also mentioned that Square Enix was working with another development team to make the game

TGS 2008: The 3rd Birthday teaser ad

Ever since it was announced that The 3rd Birthday from Square Enix will go beyond the little pond of mobile gaming into the big lake of PlayStation Portable, we've heard so little about its development.

Sure, there were a few details, some screenshots here and there, but really, we're craving for more of that party, if you will. At the TGS 2008, the teasing continues. They don't have any video trailers for us or whatnot, but they do have this kickass teaser ad.

Square Enix releases first The 3rd Birthday video

Finally! Square Enix has released the first trailer for The 3rd Birthday, the upcoming Parasite Eve entry for the PlayStation Portable.

The trailer starts off with a very quick recap of some of the events that happened in the first two Parasite Eve games and continues on with the church scene that shows Aya Brea wearing a wedding dress. If you've seen the first screenshots, you'll remember what I'm talking about.

Here's the vid in all its glory. We still haven't heard a set release date for this game, but keep checking back here for more updates.
