IGN disse:Players can take their ninja battles on the road with Naruto: Ninja Destiny, the first 3D head-to-head Naruto fighter for the Nintendo DS.
Any aspiring ninja can unleash powerful jutsu and take advantage of items to brawl his way to victory against 16 different characters. Dual-screen combat allows fierce battles to unfold on the top screen while special power ups can be strategically unleashed on the touch screen for fast, frenetic action.
Ninja Destiny offers new content over the original Japanese version while offering a slew of popular gameplay options like the intense single-player story mode, versus, and wireless two-player battles.

IGN HANDS-ON
Instead, Ninja Destiny takes the same speed, intensity, and pick-up-and-play mechanic as the Clash of Ninja series, bringing full 3D fighting to the Nintendo DS crowd.
We went hands-on with the game for the first time this week, and while it is far from the perfect DS fighter (especially when you look at the competition in Bleach), it is a huge leap in the right direction for the franchise, and hands-down the best Naruto experience on DS.
And when it comes to gameplay, Naruto DS feels very reminiscent of its console brother, something that is no easy task.
As you can see from the videos we captured during our playthrough, the animations are slick, the battles are fast, and the attacks themselves – while not taken directly from the Cube/Wii games – look very similar to the higher-profile fighters fans are used to on consoles
As the final aspect of the game worth noting at this time (we are, after all, only a few rounds in with our Naruto experience so far), Ninja Destiny makes use of the touch screen in a pretty basic – but still rewarding – way.
Since all of the action takes place on the top screen, the DS's touch pad is reserved for a random power-up system that is thumb activated throughout the match.
These icons will be randomly "dealt" to players before the bout, and when touched can activate defense power-ups, an instant boost in chakara for special attacks, and even limited invincibility.
The result is a more arcade-like experience, but also a bit of a longer overall fight time, as you can heal yourself, boost defense, or the like
