Connect 3D is gone (aka R.I.P.)

A few weeks back we learned that ATI lost a valuable partner. Connect 3D is gone and a lot of people went to other companies, including Zotac or some other partners.

Connect 3D went bankrupt a few months ago and unknown company acquired the brand. It is unknown what this new company plans to do with the brand and if we are going to see graphic cards with this brand in the future.

ATI has less partners and has lost a loyal one that will be missed. There are still a bunch of the willing so things looks good.

in fudzilla

Tens muitos outros parteners que fabricam so ATI e outros que fabricam so Nvidia.

Twin Tech eats up Connect3D

Cards have been dealt

AS OUR SOURCES told us, there were lot of vultures flying around the fresh corpse of ATI partner Connect3D. However, there is only one victor.

One of leading shareholders in TwinTech3D, second-tier Nvidia AIB partner bought a complete stake in now-bankrupt Connect3D. Plan is quite simple - increase the market share for Twintech company with this week's launch of long-delayed HD2400 and HD2600.

There is quite a lot of money invested to back the restart of Connect3D operation, and with TwinTech3D offering Nvidia cards and Connect3D continuing to offer ATI ones, this partnership will pose quite a challenge for remaining Nvidia-only or ATI-only AIBs.

In the past 24 months, we have witnessed quite a lot of shakeups and partnering in the industry, and the number of companies that offer both ATI and Nvidia based cards has grown from two (Asustek, MSI) to "quite a lot", as our sources have it.

You can now buy ATI or Nvidia cards from Asustek, GigaByte, MSI, Palit (Gainward/Palit), PC Partner (via Sapphire/Zotac), and now Connect3D/TwinTech3D.

Interesting moves indeed. µ
