O que significam os beeps do computador!

Criei este tópico unicamente com o intuito de ter aqui toda (ou o máximo que for possível) a informação sobre os beeps dos computadores.

Não quero tirar qualquer mérito ao greven porque ele já tem um tópico deste tipo chamado "Bips da BIOS" em http://www.techzonept.com/showthread.php?t=61517&highlight=beeps
mas porque está um pouco incompleto (apenas tem para AMI, AWARD e PHOENIX) e porque seria provável que se eu acrescentasse 1 post com o que falta, a maioria do pessoal que fosse consultar ficava-se pelo 1º post e não iria ver o resto.

Conforme a marca da BIOS, os beeps poderão ter significados diferentes:


AMI BIOS

Beep Code ....................Descriptions
1 short ------------ DRAM refresh failure
2 short ------------ Parity circuit failure
3 short ------------ Base 64K RAM failure
4 short ------------ System timer failure
5 short ------------ Process failure
6 short ------------ Keyboard controller Gate A20 error
7 short ------------ Virtual mode exception error
8 short ------------ Display memory Read/Write test failure
9 short ------------ ROM BIOS checksum failure
10 short ----------- CMOS shutdown Read/Write error
11 short ----------- Cache Memory error

AWARD BIOS

Beep Code ........................... Description
1 long, 2 short --------- A video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information
Any other beep(s) ------ RAM problem.

Note: If any other correctable hardware issues the BIOS will display a message.



IBM BIOS

Beep Code.................................................. Description
No Beeps ------------------------------- No Power, Loose Card, or Short.
1 Short Beep --------------------------- Normal POST, computer is ok.
2 Short Beeps -------------------------- POST error, review screen for error code.

NOTA: Devida à variedade de fabricantes de computadores que usam as BIOS indicadas, os códigos dos beeps/tones poderá variar relativamente ao apresentado.

Qual é o problema?:

Um beep continuo que tem 15 segundos, e repete-se continuamente, com intervalos de silêncio de 4 segundos.

Ele ás vezes arranca, mas passado algum tempo, bloqueia.

Se for preciso: Windows xP, E8400, P5N-E, e 2X 1gb Kinston.

Boas,

Faz os seguintes testes:

- tira as memórias e volta a por
- testa só com uma memória, nos vários slots (faz esta operação com ambas até o pc funcionar)
- testa com outras memórias.

Esse beep nas 650i penso que seja erro de memória, de qualquer maneira, se os testes acima não funcionarem, tira o processador (limpa e mete pasta termica nova) e volta a colocá-lo.
