The New Lord of The Single-Core, Intel Conroe-L 2.8G 1MB performance discovers

Since Intel launched their Core 2 Duo new generation processors, did get
great recommend in mid-range and high-end market, build up with brake
through performance and 65nm tech.

But in the mainstream and entry level side, Intel still use old P4 architecture
to beat AMD K8 series, they also prepare to launch the single core Conroe-L
for new product lines.

In the recent days, we already saw few Conroe-L test, like single core 2.4G
512k version test exposure.

Now I also got 2 Conroe-L CPU, they are 2.8G 1MB and 2.4G 512K version. I
just teal some free time in these 2 days to try some Conroe-L 2.8G
performance and overclock result.

Pentium will be the name of the Conroe-L, a single core version of the Conroe with a smaller cache :

- Pentium E1020 : 1.4 GHz, FSB800, 1 MB of L2 cache
- Pentium E1040 : 1.6 GHz, FSB800, 1 MB of L2 cache
- Pentium E1060 : 1.8 GHz, FSB800, 1 MB of L2 cache

Novos conroe single core , os resultados estao mto bons

EDIT:

Intel Pentium E2000 Family

Intel has cancelled Pentium E1000(Conroe-L) previously planned as single-core processors with 1MB L2 cache and 800MHz FSB
. Instead, a new dual core Pentium E2000 family is introduced, enlarging the popularity of dual core processors. According to the latest roadmap from Intel, Pentium E2000 is based on native L2 stepping 2MB Conroe core, where 1MB of the L2 cached is disabled. The E2000 family will be available in Q307 including E2140 (1.6GHz/1MB L2/800MHz FSB) and E2160 (1.8GHz/1MB L2/800MHz FSB). All processors will support Enhanced Intel SpeedStep (EIST), Intel 64 (I64) and Execute Disable Bit (XD Bit) just like Core 2 Duo. However, Intel Virtualization (VT), ViiV and vPRO will be excluded. Intel expects Pentium E2000 will share 18% of the total shipment when launched.

Parece que o E1000 vai passar a "Celeron 400"

Acquaintance from mother board industry indicates Intel is going to release 2 processors for entry level market based on Core architecture. Being denominated as Celeron 400 family recently, these processors are the first introduce of Conroe-L single core as well as the first 800MHz FSB Celeron, meaning products with 533MHz FSB are fading out.

In the previous plan, Conroe-L will be introduced in both Pentium E1000 family and Celeron 400 family, but since Pentium E1000 has cancelled, the specification of Celeron 400 has been raised from 512KB L2 Cache/533MHz FSB to 1MB L2 Cache/800MHz FSB as was seen in Pentium E1000 originally.

In the early release of Celeron 400, there will be two models only, including Celeron 430 and Celeron 440 with clock speed 1.8GHz and 2GHz respectively. Intel 64 technology and Excute Disable Bit technology are supported, but not VT, EIST, ViiV and vPRO, however.

Beginning from Q3 2007, the old Netburst Celeron D will fade out from the market and, expectedly, Celeron 400 family will replace the market no after then the end of 2007. According to Intel’s internal estimation, Celeron D will ship 11% of the total shipment in Q1 2007 and experience a boom to 18% in Q2 2007 and, eventually, decline steadily to under 10% in Q3 2007. In the first quarter when Celeron 400 family is being sold, the estimated shipment share is around 12%

Este cpu deve sair bem barato e se saísse agora, até seria um bom cpu.
Em Q3 2007 já é mais complicado.
