Sun King Technology (SKT), empresa de Taiwan especialista no fabrico de design e fabrico de Sockets para CPU à mais de 10 anos, anunciou recentemente um novo design para o tão invulgar Socket LGA775.

The newly developed LGA775 socket has patented terminals and built-in retractable spring cover that provides complete bent-pin protection for the P5 CPU architecture. The four-screw metal supporting bracket mounted on the reverse side of PC board can resolve the existing board bending (bowing) issue during the board design phase, and assure accurate pressure contact and alignment to the circuit pad directly, while the CPU is driven into the “ lock ” position by the lever loading mechanism.

Basicamente, este novo Socket irá evitar o chamado "efeito onda" que existe actualmente com as motherboards de Socket LGA775, devido ao esforço do encaixe do cooler sobre o CPU.
Com esta medida, muitos RMA actualmente existentes nestas motherboards deixarão de existir, tornando as motherboards bem mais fiáveis.
