ATI R520 board codename is Raptor
Chip is still codenamed Fudo

THIS TIME ATI doesn’t plan to codename its high end graphic board as the Olympic skateboard. This time ATI used a cool name for its upcoming R520 graphic board design.
ATI engineers always had different codenames for their chips and the actual graphic board. It is a known fact that chip is codenamed Fudo and that’s the codename that stays but the actual graphic board comes with the codename Raptor.
Hawk eye, as Jock McFrock would mutter.
We know that ATI plans several versions of these cards and the one we are certain of will end up with 512MB of memory while its little Raptor Fudo will end up with 256MB of memory. ATI will play with memory speed and clock speed to offer you many versions of the card.
Raptor is expected sometime in May rather later than sooner and that’s when the new era of Shader Model 3.0 and 32 bit colour precision starts for ATI. We expect ATI SLI mode to follow around that time. µ
