Segundo noticia acabada de sair na Softpedia (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Vista-SP2-Will-Solve-Vista-SP1-RTM-Reboot-Failures-on-Multiple-Processors-PCs-86079.shtml), a Microsoft pondera lançar um “service pack 2” para corrigir alguns defeitos que o recente SP1 provocou nos utilizadores do Windows Vista.


A Microsoft disponibilizou recentemente o Windows Vista SP1 pretendendo corrigir e tornar o Windows Vista o mais estável e completo possível, isso era a pretensão, poucos dias depois, máquinas com múltiplos processadores e com o Vista SP1 instalado, deixavam de responder após tentarem arrancar, simplesmente bloqueavam e não iniciavam a sessão.

Pior foi quando se detectou que o Windows Server 2008, que engloba o mesmo código que o Vista SP1, também padece do mesmo problema. Esta falha acontece somente nalguns processadores, no entanto, até ao momento, a Microsoft ainda não conseguiu identificar quais os que poderão estar a causar esta falha!


A Microsoft disponibiliza aqui (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952629/) ajuda e suporte técnico para este cenário. No entanto os utilizadores do Windows Vista SP1 e do Windows Server 2008 terão de solicitar apoio técnico no serviço online de suporte técnico (https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/emailcontact.aspx?scid=sw;%5BLN%5D;1414&from=KBHotfix&WS=hotfix), esta correcção não estará disponível ao publico em geral.

A partir deste momento, ambos os sistemas operativos em causa, estão apontados como candidatos a receber novos Service Packs, podemos assim esperar para breve a nova saga do Service Pack para o Vista!

desconheço isto.. mas acho que no roadmap o SP2 ainda estava muito longe...

Nunca irá sair um SP2 só por causa de um problema deste tipo!

Mais tarde ou mais cedo irá sair o tal KB para ser instalado no Vista e Windows Server 2008

nao acredito nessa noticia... um service pack novo so por causa de 2 ou 3 falhas? isso vai sair num updatezeco qualquer... vao ver...

system. However, this does not mean that SP1 has made Vista perfect, far from it in fact. Even with the first service pack integrated, Windows Vista has problems playing well on machines with multiple processors. According to Microsoft, the issues are related to scenarios in which computers simply run multiple processors and Vista SP1 is restarted.

The Redmond company revealed that restarting a computer with multiple processors installed and running Windows Vista SP1 can throw the machine in a non-responsive state, blocking the reboot at Windows Start screen. Windows Server 2008, which shares the same codebase as Vista SP1 is also affected by the problem. Microsoft has so far failed to identify the specific processors impacted.

"Consider the following scenario: you have a computer that is running Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008. the computer has multiple processors installed. you restart the computer. In this scenario, the computer may stop responding at the Windows Start screen," are the only details (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952629/) provided by the Redmond company.

Microsoft is offering a hotfix for download, but Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 users have to request it from Online Customer Services (http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=6294451), as it is not available for download to the general public. The company explained that the hotfix requires additional testing, and then pointed to the next service pack for both operating systems as the ideal solution.

Since at this point in time, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 are labeled as SP1, the next service pack is, of course, SP2. "If you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows Server 2008 service pack or Windows Vista service pack that contains this hotfix," Microsoft advised.


Ou seja a MS vai lançar um update tal como tinha suspeitado que seria.. o que eles querem dizer é que este será um update que só fará parte do SP2 (Obvio dado que o SP1 já saiu)

Contudo é daqueles updates que necessitam de um pedido á MS

O meu computador foi afectado por essa falha, quando eu reiniciava chegava a parte ou metia sleep ele deixava de trabalhar não conseguia mexer no rato nem no teclado.

e já experimentas te com o update que deixei ai?

Eu não tinha problemas mas instalei na mesma... e não noto diferenças (claro) :cool:

ainda não está previsto no roadmap

o meu vista ao final de 7 horas empacou ca duma maneira que nem o ctr alt del resolvia xD
