AMD is planning to launch two 45nm Phenom X4 CPUs (Deneb) in 2008 with core frequencies of between 2.5-2.8GHz and 2.4-2.7GHz, with both adopting 6MB L3 Cache and having a TDP rating of 95W, according to sources at motherboard makers.

AMD will announce the final order date for its 125W Phenom X4 9750 by the end of the second quarter and the CPU will be replaced by a 95W version – which is available this quarter – while the 95W Phenom X4 9850 will appear before January of 2009. The company is also planning to launch an updated version of its upcoming Phenom X4 9950 (schedule to launch in June) at the end of the fourth quarter.

In addition to the current triple-core CPUs, AMD will launch the Phenom X3 8550 with a core frequency of 2.2GHz in the third quarter (production beginning in the second quarter) and the company will launch more triple-core CPUs in the fourth quarter.

The company will begin production and take orders for the low-power Phenom X4 9350e (Agena) in the third quarter, while the low-power 8450e (Tollman) will see production begin in the second quarter, though order availability will not begin until the third quarter. The Phenom X4 9150e, which was originally planned to be launched in the second quarter, will not be available for orders until the third quarter, along with the 9350e. In the fourth quarter, AMD will launch another low-power CPU, while in the first half of 2009, the 45nm low-power quad-core Phenom CPUs (Propus) will appear in the market.

The company will stop taking orders for the Athlon 64 FX-74 in the beginning of the fourth quarter.

AMD's 45nm CPUs are already in EVT testing and motherboard makers should receive their samples by August or September this year, if the process goes smoothly, 45nm Phenom X4 CPUs should appear in the market by the end of November, added the sources.

AMD indicated that it declines to comment on unannounced products.

SE as datas forem tao distantes como fala ai, tá mal tá.

Hoje estamos com soluções multi-gpu muito dependentes do cpu, além do gaming em geral estar a aumentar as exigencias, e 4mb de cache dos phenom ( até - em jogos single thread ), além das baixas velocidades de relogio provavelmente limitadas pelos alta dissipaçao de calor dos 4 nucleos a 65nm, não ajudarem a AMD a convencer os gamers.

2.8Ghz??6MB L3??Não era essa a cache que era muito lenta??
Até já os próprios executivos dizem que os problemas do K10 só seram resolvidos no K11,por isso não esperem muito destes novos "Phenom"
"Advanced Micro Devices has been struggling to deliver higher-performance quad-core central processing units for months to address the market of enthusiasts, unfortunately, without much luck. But things may be more complicated than one may imagine and the chipmaker will continue to have hard times with higher-performance chips until the new code-named Bulldozer micro-architecture arrives.

AMD’s Athlon 64 and Opteron processors substantially reshaped the markets of desktop, server and workstation chips thanks to serious performance advantage over competing solutions from Intel, however, the new-generation code-named K10 central processing units (CPUs) can hardly leave Intel’s chips behind in terms of performance, but consume considerably more power. Apparently, AMD has problems with the design of its quad-core AMD Phenom and AMD Opteron processors that cannot be cured easily enough by tweaking the current hardware based on the current micro-architecture.

“If I look at the next-generation architecture of our CPU, then it will definitely not be, how can I say, comparable with the Phenom. It will look completely different. [It will] solve problems that today we think can never be addressed by hardware,” said Giuseppe Amato, technical director of sales and marketing for EMEA region at AMD in an interview with Custom PC web-site.

AMD admitted in the past that it had issues with “wedding” the chip design with process technology, but denied the fact that it had issues with the micro-architecture or its current implementation when it comes to volume production. However, judging by the fact that the company still cannot deliver quad-core microprocessors clocked at 2.60GHz or higher, it has issues with volume manufacturing of higher-end K10 generation chips. If Mr. Amato’s comments touch upon the problems of higher-end chips’ volume ramp, then it will be pretty hard for AMD to compete against Intel for higher-end CPU market.

Bulldozer is the next-generation micro-architecture and processor design developed from the ground up by AMD. It is expected that the next-generation micro-processors will offer considerably higher performance than current-generation chips. AMD Bulldozer CPUs will feature SSE5 instruction set. The first Bulldozer processors are projected to emerge on the market in very late 2009 at the earliest or early 2011 at the latest."

nao mandem já abaixo os phenom de 45nm... ninguem sabe como irão ser em termos de performance. os 45nm vao ser uma revisao dos phenom 65nm. os q6600 na revisão b3 tb não eram nada de extraordinário.

os problemas que eles falam não sao os bugs e limitações dos phenom sao os da arquitectura do proprio phenom. eles com esta versao de 45nm vao melhorar o seu desempenho com certeza. um dos problemas era o nivel de cache L3 ser apenas 2mb que passa aora a 6mb e a sua latência. se resolverem esses problemas e se realmente lançarem um CPU a 2.8 quem sabe que rendimento terá... e o preço que lançam o mesmo pode ser uma aposta séria.

ninguem sabe a quanto irá ser lancado os nenhalm e a que velocidades realmente irão ter... apenas houve uma demo a 3.2 creio tal como houve dos phenom a 3.0GHz

OS Q6600 B3 são exactamente iguais aos Q6600 G0 tirando na capacidade de overclock se fores ver a performance é a mesma.
A performance nunca poderá subir muito devido a que é apenas uma optimização do K10@65nm tal como o Penryn apenas traz em média uma vantagem de 10% em performance em relação ao Conroe.
Normalmente os chips que vem para o mercado são melhores que os ES,basta ver os Conroe que são melhores o'cers são os retail

É que mesmo a 45nm, o máximo que anunciam são 2.8GHz... deixa mesmo a desejar.

não é um problema novo...e seria de estar à espera disto, não?

o roadmap também está longe de ser o ideal...torna-se complicado (mesmo com uma política de preços agressiva) conseguir ser competitivo.

Acho que eles estão no pior momento desde que lançaram o K7 500MHz. Ainda passaram por dificuldades... estou a lembrar-me quando a Intel lançou os P4 "Northwood", onde a AMD teve dificuldades na passagem dos seus AthlonXP 180nm para os 130nm. Mais tarde até lançaram outra revisão ao AthlonXP 130nm para poder subir as suas frequências de relógio...

Com os 45nm nos Phenom até se podia esperar velocidades superiores mas nem assim vai resolver o problema. Eles já andam com a cabeça no K11. :rolleyes:

Neste momento a todos os níveis (preço e performance) a AMD não consegue ser competitiva. Na parte das placas gráficas o cenário não está assim tão mau.

Sou uma pessoa que torço pelos mais "fracos", e a AMD devia fazer melhor pela experiência que têm.

AMD to update its low-power CPU lineup

AMD is planning to launch several low-power triple-core and quad-core CPUs during the second half of 2008 all featuring a TDP of 65W, according to sources at motherboard makers.

Two low-power triple-core Phenom CPUs – X3 8250e and 8450e – will feature core frequencies of 1.9GHz and 2.1GHz, respectively, and both include an L2 cache of 1.5MB and L3 cache of 2MB. The two CPUs will enter DVT in July and start mass production at the beginning of August. If the process goes smoothly, the two CPUs should appear in the channel by mid to late August, the sources said.

Meanwhile the company will launch the low-power quad-core Phenom X4 9350e in the third quarter and another model in the fourth quarter, the sources added, and in the first quarter of 2009, AMD will begin to roll out its 45nm quad-core CPUs (Propus) targeting core frequencies between 2.3-2.6GHz.

AMD also plans for the Phenom X4 9850 (2.5GHz) and 9950 (2.6GHz) to enter DVT in the third quarter, and ship in the fourth quarter, and is scheduling to launch two 45nm Phenom X4 CPUs by the end of the fourth quarter with core frequencies between 2.4-2.8GHz, the sources revealed.

In other news, AMD has given notice that final orders for the Phenom X4 9100e will be taken at the end of the second quarter, while the Phenom X3 8250e and X4 9150e will both enter final ordering around the end of the fourth quarter, the sources detailed. Orders for the dual-core Athlon X2 4050e are also scheduled to stop at the end of the third quarter.

AMD declined the opportunity to respond to report saying it cannot comment on unannounced products.
