AT: Are there any possible real-world benefits from the work done by Leiden Classical? If so, could you elaborate on it?
MS: Like I mentioned above briefly, the Surface Science helps us to understand heterogeneous catalysis better. You can think of eventually getting better catalysts being put into your car exhaust system. You could also think of obtaining better catalysts for other industrial processes which would reduce the amount of energy needed to produce ammonia. The educational value Leiden Classical has, I do not need to explain, I think.
